Is Flautist Roz Chast's long lost twin sister?

Flautist_speaks_2b008_2

Look at the graphic above, received yesterday afternoon from an email address purported to be that of Flautist.

Tell you one thing — you won't find her work in the New Yorker.

Unless you happen to visit the Bizarro World Barndoor's Noble.

Trust me....

Nothing at all, Daniel. That's the beauty part.
However, should you feel discombobulated & in need of escape from this fluteless landscape, there's this--

(the first two minutes of the vid.)

I played that thing on several programs (Dinicu's "Hora Staccato" for violin, transcribed, obviously, for flute) -- it's not as hard as it sounds -- but my crowning achievement was when a fellow performance major did the articulation (the mouth part) and I did the fingering (the finger part) and we actually created a fairly listenable tune. Even played it on an (informal) program once! Brought the house down.

No, that is not me playing in that video. My beard isn't that long yet. You'll have to settle for James Galway.

I'm confused. What does any of this have to do with flute players?

This makes me happy! Thank you, Flautist, for some silly charmingness, with a dash of wacky.
