I need to send a case of these. Problem is, the receiver doesn't give a flying sh*t. I'm beginning to think happiness really IS an illusion, blah, blah, whine, whine. And, I've nailed it down to this: I am without, I guess for lack of a better word, I'll call it "cute" -- it's more an aura thing, I mean, and, and...oh the hell with it. Who cares.
But, it does make me think of that line from the Jacque Brel song "Jacky" -- English version (taken totally out of context) --
"If I could be, for only an hour,
If I could be, for one hour every day,
If I could be, for just one little hour,
Cute, cute, in a stupid-ass way"
I always loved that song -- if anyone wants to hear it, here's Scott Walker's English version. (Oh yeah, the last half of the video is Tina? Nancy? Sinatra doing "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'", which is very amusing also, in a 60's kind of way.):
