Freedom Digital TV USB Stick

Jjhbnjljlhjlkhgh

Why can't we buy it in the U.S.?

I just read a glowing review by Jonathan Margolis in his May 19 Financial Times "technopolis" column of this remarkable device.

Long story short: It turns your laptop into a television, digital TV recorder and digital radio.

Bonus: "You can even burn programmes you record onto a CD or DVD."

Lucky you if you live in England — Amazon U.K. sells it for £33.95.

I'm guessing the unavailability in the U.S. has to do with the DMCA and other highly restrictive anti-piracy laws.

Froogle [Google shopping search] did find a US source - http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?code=127864&partner=IMFRO

Looks interesting, but I do not know if HDTV specs are the same in the UK and US - for normal TV, they are not: PAL vs NTSC.

this is cool, assuming:

1) you want to watch TV (no)

2) you have cable to attach it to (no)

3) you have any TV reception over the airwaves in your area (nothing but white fuzz)

heh...I guess I don't need one! Finally something cool on BOJ that I don't have to order. ;-)
